Internship Overview

Finding my internship was pure luck, I had planned to work with a friend of mine who is in the field of chiropractors; which would have been perfect for me since I planned to go into massage therapy. However, she simply couldn’t find any work for me to do, but she told me that she would put the word out to her colleagues and see if anyone could use an intern. From there the clock kept ticking and it looked like I was running out of time until mid april. Thats when she told me that she was about to give up; there was just one person left to ask. Her name was Danielle and she runs Urban Air Market which is a “curated marketplace for sustainable design featuring independent designers of men’s, women’s, and kid’s clothing, accessories, jewelry and home décor”, as it say on her web site. My job at Urban Air Market was to run the information booth, data entry, and to help with setup and cleanup. The majority of my time was spent talking to people at the information booth; I would answer questions, convince people to enter the raffle by signing up for the newsletter, hand out tote bags to people who RSVPed, tell the performers when and where they would perform, and much more. Over all I had a wonderful time and learned a lot about myself in the process.
